Beware Of Scam Calls

Some people in town have been receiving distressing calls from someone claiming to be from Canada Customs. The caller then says that they have a parcel or parcels that have been seized by customs agents. Information is then sought by the callers The Kahnawake Peacekeepers are looking into the calls. Jody Diabo is the Assistant Chief at the Kahnàwake Peacekeepers:

“Never give any information over the phone. If you get a call like and you are expecting a parcel from some place, call the company, do not give any information.”

Diabo says the Peacekeepers encourage you to reach out to them immediately:

“We want people to call us and let us know and we can put something out on our Facebook page to remind everybody, but we also report it to Phone Busters.”
