Lisa Westaway from the KMHC confirming to K1037 this afternoon that the community has another positive Covid-19 case in its midst:
“It’s just a regular case in the community, like whenever we announce an active case it’s in the community so it’s not one that is related to any existing cases.”
Westaway on the procedures automatically deployed:
“We do contact tracing like normal, we speak with the person who is positive and we identify who their contacts have been and then we call those contacts and those people are put in isolation.”
This case now makes 2 positive Kahnawake cases:
“It’s the 2nd active community member case, so, ‘resident.’ So, as you know we have people in isolation who were in contact with positive cases who are not from town, however, there are 2 active cases in the community.”
