Peacekeepers Break Up New Year’s Eve Gathering in Kahnawake

Kahnawake Peacekeepers broke up a gathering at a private residence on New Year’s eve in the community. They are still investigating but plan on issuing five or six fines to those in attendance according to Peacekeeper Assistant Chief Jody Diabo. The Task Force directive as of December 28th, 2020 was for absolutely no visits in private homes.
There are now nine active cases of COVID-19 in Kahnawake. Dozens more are in isolation because of contact tracing.
