First Covid Cases In Kahnesatake

Kahnesetake is reporting it’s first case of COVID-19.
According to Grand Chief Serge Otsi Simon multiple cases were diagnosed early last week.
“We have five confirmed cases now. We have as many as thirty people who may have come in contact over a period of time.”
Grand Chief Simon went on to say that a Regional Health Commission Mobile test site was in the community today (Tuesday) for more testing . Simon says there would be a large number of people getting tested; in his words,“the idea of community spread scares the hell out of a lot of people.”
As far as they can tell, says Simon, the initial source may have been a patient who was visited in hospital. These are the first cases of Covid in Kahnesetake since the pandemic began.
