During the Kahnawake 911 Facebook live on Thursday, the Kahnawake Covid-19 Task Force unveiled an on-line measures hub for business owners to consult before opening. On it they will find a checklist on how they should be operating in the time of the pandemic.
The documents can be found at: Covid-19.kmhc.ca and click on the business reopening tab.
Kateri Memorial Hospital Center Executive Director Lisa Westaway says it is an extremely useful tool for everyone. “It has what is expected from businesses and what consumers can expect from businesses. It is also good for your home and how to prepare it,” Westaway said. 1:10
The tentative date for phase 1 of the Kahnawake reopening remains June 1st. Westaway urged all business owners to start consulting the site now in anticipation and in preparation of reopening. There is specific information for each different industry that operates in the community.
Commissioner of Public Safety Lloyd Phillips says the checkpoints on the highways have been removed by the Surete du Quebec, which there is free access to the Tiowero:ton territory. Phillips reminded the community that the same measures that are in effect in Kahnawake also apply to Tiowero:ton.
