Administration Movement at KSS and Karonhianónhnha

Written by on 25 June 2020

Several changes in administration are being implemented at two schools under the Kahnawake Education Center (KEC) banner.

Merrick Diabo has had the interim moniker removed from his title as Kahnawake Survival School (KSS) Associate Principal. A position he has occupied since February, 2019.

“What he demonstrated is that he was a quick learner. Very enthusiastic. Works extremely well with the students and has a good report and included teachers and support staff as a team in many of the initiatives that he was able to conduct at the time,” Robin Delaronde, the Director of Education at the KEC said.

Delaronde said that third administration position has been added at KSS. Iakohsónti:io McComber will be taking on the role of KSS Student Life and Prevention Administrator for a two-year term “It’s going to be the students who really benefit from having these individuals there to support them,” Delaronde said.

Sarah Kaniehtenhá:wi Phillips has been hired as Karonhianònhnha School Interim Principal effective August 17th.  She will be replacing Lauren Jacco who is headed on maternity leave. The role of associate principal will be shared by committee at the school as educators pull double duty in their current jobs as well.
