After 9 years as Director of the Human Resources Unit at the Mohawk Council of Kahnàwake, Rosanne Norton has resigned from the position, effective Friday, November 25th. Norton began her career at the Lands Department of the MCK in August of 2007, transferring to HR in 2008. Throughout her tenure, she held several positions within the Unit until assuming the role of Director in August of 2013. During the Pandemic, Norton and her team worked diligently to ensure the day-to-day needs of the MCK while assisting other local organizations with staffing to ensure essential services were maintained. As employees and services shifted to a remote-based work environment, Norton helped coordinate and ensure that employees were able to perform their duties under new and sometimes hazardous work conditions.
Over the years, Rosanne Norton assisted in the development and implementation of many human resource systems and processes, all which have contributed to improving internal functions of the MCK. The position of Director of Human Resources will be posted in the near future. As Rosanne transitions out of the position, assistance and oversight will be provided by the Executive Administrative Officer who oversees the Human Resources Unit.
