KMHC Criticisms

In the wake of receiving the highest accreditation possible for a hospital or health care facility, the Kateri Memorial Hospital Center has come under some recent public criticism that has been making the rounds on social media, even prompting a meeting of the people in Kahnawake on Monday evening. Arnold Lazare is a Co-Chair of the KMHC Board of Directors:
“For the record, there is no elder abuse at the hospital. What we do have is some social media posts have highlighted some of the challenges primarily due to Covid. I know people are tired of hearing that excuse, but there has been challenges, but we’re led to believe some false accusations of how the patients are treated. If we ever hear, it’s thoroughly investigated immediately.”
The KMHC Board of Directors saying, in a news release, they are aware that accidents are bound to happen and those statistics are public knowledge – all while maintaining patient confidentiality. K1037 News has spoken with an unofficial representative of some of the families who are upset – and we are awaiting a response.
