“Flushing the Pipes”

Crews will be conducting “uni-directional flushing” of the water distribution system beginning Monday, May 10th, weather permitting. The Public Works Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke saying that the work is expected to last about a month. Uni-directional flushing is the process of cleaning the water system by flowing water in one direction through the mains and is accomplished by closing specified valves and by flushing strategically located hydrants.
