Sports Complex Repairs: Ahead Of Schedule

Written by on 9 December 2020

The downtime resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic closure of the 33-year-old Kahnawà:ke Sports Complex for ice rentals has allowed The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke to undertake much-needed repairs to the facility.

The time allotted has permitted the performance of preventative maintenance and it is ahead of schedule. The work includes substantial repairs to the ice-making equipment, with improvements underway as well for the dressing room areas. Additionally, an engineering firm has been contracted to gauge the lifespan of the arena’s concrete floor, following which plans will be determined regarding next steps.

The MCK is also looking at the installation of a proper wheelchair ramp while reconfiguring the placement of accessible parking areas.
