Registration Open for $500 Inflation Benefit
Written by Jarrett Jacobs on 22 January 2026

Registration is now open for the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK)’s one-time, $500 inflation benefit.
The initiative was announced on January 6, 2026, and will provide every member on the Kahnawà:ke Kanien’kehá:ka Registry (aged 18 or older) with a $500 payment. It’s being paid for by the community’s gaming revenue, and it comes in response to the rising cost of living; intended to offset inflationary pressures and provide financial relief directly to community members.
Registration is now open, and requests can be submitted to Melissa Jean Dear, of PlanIt Consulting and Communications, at melissajean@planitkahnawake.ca or at 514-754-2028.
An online request form can also be found at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MCKinflationBenefit
In-person kiosks will be available at various locations throughout Kahnawà:ke until March 13. Paper request forms can be picked up at the MCK Client-Based Services Office, the Tewatohnhi’saktha lobby, and several other places of business in the community. Those forms must be dropped off at the PlanIt Office during regular business hours: Monday to Thursday from 8:45AM to 3:30PM.
To be eligible for the payment, you must be 18 years or older on or before April 30th, 2026, and you must be on the Kahnawà:ke Kanien’kehá:ka Registry. The deadline is March 13th at 4PM, and physical checques will be sent out by mail in May.
