AFN in Tio’tiá:ke

Delegates from hundreds of First Nations are meeting in Tio’tiá:ke. The Assembly of First Nations kicking off its 45th annual general assembly at Montreal’s Palais des congress today. The theme “Strengthening our Relations.” New Ohenton Í:rate ne Ratsisahiens Cody Diabo attended a ceremony this morning. Tomorrow, Wednesday and again on Thursday, the entire MCK council will be attending the AFN, with a record number of attendees expected.

This year’s agenda includes: First Nations policing, charter renewal, the First Nations Clean Water Act, also the status on long-term reform to the First Nations Child and Family Services program and Jordan’s Principle.
