Water System Flushing: Month-long

Crews will be conducting unidirectional flushing of the water distribution system as of today. The work, according to The Public Works Unit of the (MCK) Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke, is expected to last close to a month. Unidirectional flushing is the process of cleaning the water system by flowing water in one direction through the mains. This is accomplished by closing specified valves and by flushing strategically located hydrants.
