Ietsénhaienhs Morrison Returns from Medical Leave

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) says Ietsénhaienhs Melanie Morrison is making a progressive return from her medical leave, effective Monday, January 12, 2026.

Morrison went on leave in October and was originally expected to return the following month, but her leave was extended to January. In her absence, the role of Heritage Portfolio Lead was temporarily given to Ratsénhaienhs Stephen McComber, and the Public/Community Safety portfolio was handed over to Ratsénhaienhs Iohahí:io Delisle.

Morrison is expected to get back on a full time schedule as of Monday, February 9^th. Until then, the temporary reassignment of her portfolios will remain in place.
