Kateri Golf Tournament Raises Over $180K

The final numbers are in from the Kateri Memorial Foundation Golf Tournament 2 weeks ago. Just over $180 000 raised. The money is going to help build a covered walkway and ramp for the long-term entrance at the Hospital. Valerie Diabo is the Executive Director at the KMHC:

“Last year I think it was just at $130,000, imagine that’s a lot of money, so to get $180,000, that passed my expectations. Everything will go for the renovations, we don’t have an estimated cost for the project yet, but all pf that I’m sure will go for the project that we put in for the roof over our handicap ramp in long-term care.”

Diabo has worked at the hospital since 1988 and realizes how far they have come in that time, in large part due to fundraising efforts by the foundation and community. She spoke with K1037 News as she was helping to set up a staff appreciation Bar-B-Q today, Wednesday, in the courtyard. That too was built with the help of the foundation’s fundraising.
