Written by on 19 June 2024

Recent water sampling results in Tioweró:ton with testing performed by Environmental Health Services of Kahnawake Shakotiia’takehnhas Community Services detected a high level of E.coli at the first Bridge and the Falls. As a precaution, Kahnawa’kehró:non are advised not to swim in that area until further notice. The weather forecast projects rain this coming Saturday, Sunday and Monday, which should reduce E.coli values when the next sampling is done. Water testing will continue, and updates will be provided to the community as they become available. The next test will be on Monday, July 1st, weather permitting.
