Council Election Candidates Are In

There is now competition for the position of Grand Chief in Kahnawake, with 3 candidates now in the fold. Cody Diabo, who has served one and a half terms as a Ratsisahiens says that he is running for Grand Chief, while Gina Deer is also in the running for the role. Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer is looking for a second consecutive term. There are 19 candidates for council chief, as Paul Rice opted to accept that nomination.

Electoral Officer Angus Montour says the list should be confirmed and finalized by Friday at 12-Noon, after his office completes its due diligence.
