Tioweró:ton Falls Area: Swimming Suspended
Written by Jeremy Zafran on 6 October 2023
Tioweró:ton Falls Area swimming, top to bottom, has been suspended due to elevated bacteria levels, this from the Lands Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke. Recent water sampling by technicians from Environmental Health Services (EHS) of Kahnawà:ke Shakotiia’takehnhas Community Services has revealed an unacceptable increase in bacteria and recommends staying out of the water, in the Falls area only, until levels return to what is considered adequate for swimming and recreation. The community will be kept up to date on further developments.
