Swimming in Tioweró:ton: Suspended

Swimming in Tioweró:ton has been suspended again. The Public Safety Division of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke with the late day announcement, advising the community that all common swimming areas in Tioweró:ton are now closed due to elevated bacteria levels. Recent water sampling by technicians from Environmental Health Services (EHS) of Kahnawake Shakotiia’takehnhas Community Services has revealed an unacceptable increase in bacteria and recommends staying out of the water until levels return to what is considered adequate for swimming and recreation. EHS will test the waters again next week.
