High Speed Chase and Accident Snarls Mercier Traffic Again

A 24 year old man in in hospital with serious injuries following a high speed chase with police ended with a single vehicle accident at the exit for 32^nd avenue off of Highway 20 West. The Surete du Quebec says they tried to pull the pick-up truck over on Highway 15 South at around 3:30 this morning. He refused to stop and the pursuit began. The truck eventually hit the median at the 32^nd avenue exit in Lachine. The truck then burned up. The road remains closed as investigators continue their work. The SQ was unable to estimate when the road would reopen.
