Vax Scam Via Text Message: Be Vigilant

A vaccination scam has made its way to Kahnàwake, with a text message inviting you to participate in a lottery for $100 dollars. The issue being there is no lottery underway and the website you are being asked to click for more information is fraudulent. Kyle Zachary is the Public Relations Officer for the Kahnàwake Peacekeepers:
“It is a text message that appears to be from the Quebec Minister of Health, it offers $100 dollars if you are up-to-date on your Covid-19 vaccination. It offers a link and if you click the link it directs you to a website where you would have to enter personal information and that is how you would become a victim of this scam.”
If you are targeted you are asked to pass the information along to the Peacekeepers who are investigating the case.
