KMHC Stops Visitation Amid Increasing Numbers

The Kateri Memorial Hospital Center (KMHC) has closed inpatient to visitors for now. As of late Thursday afternoon the number of active COVID-19 cases in Kahnawake is 65. That marks an icrease of 36 cases in just 24 hours. As well, according to the KMHC, there are several people with positive rapid tests that are not included in the case count. Natural care visits are being maintained at the hospital, as well as end-of-life visits.

Meanwhile the KMHC will open the testing site for three days next week: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. They will be able to test approximately 50 people per day. Testing will be done on a first come – first served basis, but appointments are required. Telephone lines are open for appointments from 8am to 4pm on Tuesday at 450-638-3930extension 2275 or 2296.
