Further developments in the Dasia Rose Diabo case coming from The Kahnawake Peacekeepers this afternoon. K1037 has learned that according to the Peacekeepers, they received the initial report at 3:27 pm, with investigators contacting the Sûreté du Québec. This began the process of issuing an Amber Alert. When the alert was issued at 5:59 pm, the subject and suspect were at the United States Customs Office in Highgate Springs, Vermont. Because the child was located and determined to not be in danger, the Amber Alert was cancelled. The Peacekeepers were later advised that the subject and the suspect were allowed to leave the customs office, because documentation regarding custody agreements were not considered official. The investigation is on-going and charges related to the incident are to be determined. The Kahnawake Peacekeepers still consider Diabo missing at this time. Dasia turns eight years old tomorrow (Tuesday). The file remains active, and the Peacekeepers are investigating.
