2 positive Covid Cases: KMHC Inpatient Department

There has been 2 positive Covid-19 cases at the KMHC Inpatient care services department, making it an outbreak. Reported by Public Health, The Kateri Memorial Hospital Centre (KMHC) has taken immediate measures, implemented to ensure the health and safety of the residents and staff during this outbreak:
- All residents are currently being screened and are in isolation until screening results are received
- All staff impacted are currently being screened.
- There will be no visitation to Unit 1 (first floor) for the duration of the outbreak (14 days following the last identified case). At this time, visitation is stopped until November 14th. This could be extended if new cases are identified.
- There will be no visitation to Unit 2 (second floor) until all screening results are received and we confirm that there are no additional cases at this time. KMHC will advise the community when visitation opens up again for Unit 2.
In accordance with the Kahnawà:ke Emergency Preparedness Law, as well as public health and safety standards, the KMHC’s Public Health Unit and medical team will oversee this emergency medical situation. Those affected have already been contacted by Public Health.
