MCK’s Ratsénhaienhs Goodleaf Recovering Well

A little over a month after undergoing a heart procedure Mohawk Council of Kahnawake Ratsénhaienhs Barton Goodleaf is on the road to recovery.
Goodleaf has been on Medical Leave since September 17th, when he underwent heart surgery. He is hoping to be back in the office next week. Goodleaf says it will be on a part-time basis at first as he works towards a full-time return. The ordeal has made him re-evaluate his life.
I was a little bit, the right word would be immature, not knowing the severity of what I was about to go through. Being naive to the whole situation,” Goodleaf said. “Then you start hearing people and their stories, giving you advice, warning you. After that realizing what I was about to through. Then when you actually go through it it kind of changed my life. The pain kind of lets you know what you’ve gone through is a pretty serious thing.”
