Major investment for skills and employment programs in Kahnawake

The Kahnawake Economic Development Commission is getting more than $808,456 from the federal government to invest in COVID relief focused programming. The funding is earmarked for skills and employment training programs and will help build support services and opportunities for the workforce, specifically for individuals that face barriers to skills development and employment post pandemic. “We will be working on programs that assist our community with economic recovery,” said Angie Marquis, Director of Workforce Development for Tewatohnhi’saktha. “We are strategizing on how to build supports and opportunities for our workforce and continue to strengthen and make ongoing improvements for our economy.
