Bobby Patton Withdraws His Candidacy

There is now one less candidate for elected council official in the upcoming Mohawk Council of Kahnàwake election. Bobby Patton has withdrawn his name from consideration:
“I’m going to withdraw from the election race, it’s for professional reasons. Just at the time of the nominations I was promoted to court worker within the Kahnàwake territory so I needed to make a very big decision. For my family and myself I feel that it’s the best choice for me moving forward, for my profession.”
Patton served as a councilor on the MCK for 6 years between 2012-2018.
Patton sent an email to electoral officer Angus Montour stating his intentions. Montour says all Patton has to do is complete and sign a form indicating his official intention to withdraw from the race:
“I just wanted to thank the community for their support and their kindness and the understanding that I’m looking out for my community, my family and myself personally.”
