Mini Putt Construction: Safety First
Written by Jeremy Zafran on 11 June 2021
There will be excavation and construction in Sesame Park as part of the overall Mini Putt and Playground project. Although the playground portion is nearly complete and the play elements are in place, the overall project is not finished. After the land grading currently underway, the Mini Putt fencing will begin next week. Mackenzie Whyte, Interim Director of Mohawk Council of Kahnawake Sports & Recreation wants parents to talk with their kids about safety in the park during the construction period:
“There hasn’t been any incidents or anything like that, it’s just to make sure that people are aware that there is stuff is going on, we don’t want to close the park down while all the construction is going on this month, but we still want people to be vigilant and to tell their kids to stay out of the way of machinery and we’re going to be having a perimeter placed up so people will know where not to be. Generally, the playground is fine, it’s the rest of the site where the work is going to go on.”
The tentative date for the Mini Putt course to be ready is July 1st, 2021. More information will be provided closer to that date.
