Second Doses of Moderna Vaccines in Kahnawake Will Soon be Rescheduled
Written by Paul Graif on 25 May 2021
There are no active cases of COVID-19 in Kahnawake. Meanwhile because the timeline has been stepped up for the delivery of the Moderna vaccine to Kahnawake, 3000 people will be rescheduled for second doses. The original appointments that they were given on a piece of paper at their first dose, will be cancelled by Quebec Public Health. They will then be electronically scheduled for between June 7-25th.
“People who already have an appointment for sometime at the end of June or early July, that appointment, starting today people will receive either a text message or an email if they had originally booked through ClicSante cancelling their second dose,” according to Lisa Westaway, the Executive Director of the Kateri Memorial Hospital Centre (KMHC),. She appeared on K1037s Morning D. “Then they’ll receive a second email or text message with their new appointment. We have 3000 people to reschedule or schedule for second doses. We can’t really give much choice. So we are going to just be cancelling and rebooking. We’re asking that people check their emails and text messages and honour the appointment that they’re given. If they really can’t make it in for their second they can reschedule on ClicSante probably after this week.”
By Thursday, June 3rd, if you have not heard from the KMHC and are awaiting a second dose appointment, contact KMHC 450-638-3930 at extension 2295 to make an appointment.
There will be another Facebook live this afternoon on Kahnawake 911. It will be simulcast on K1037.
