There are two active cases of COVID-19 in Kahnawake as of Monday morning. Meanwhile second doses of the vaccine are still on schedule for the 112 days between first and second injections for community members.
Lisa Westaway, the Executive Director of the Kateri Memorial Hospital Centre (KMHC) joined us live on the Morning D on K1037. Talking about the schedule and continuing rollout of the vaccine. Including second appointments last week for Kahnawake’s front line workers.
“It began and ended Thursday and Friday,” Westaway said. “There may still be some people who didn’t receive their second dose, if they couldn’t come on those days for whatever reason. But most people have been vaccinated. It may be a little sooner (for the rest of the population to receive second doses). So we’ll give you more information as we have it.”
The Task Force is still planning to reduce from Red to Orange level restrictions this coming Friday.
