Kahnawa:ke’s State of Emergency Extended for 13th Month

The State of Emergency has been extended for a 13th consecutive month in Kahnawake due to the pandemic. The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke approved the 30 day extension from May 21st to June 21st this morning at their weekly meeting. The Resolution includes the extension of the Mandate for the Kahnawà:ke COVID-19 Task Force. The State of Emergency has been in effect since it was initially declared on April 21, 2020. As required by Kahnawà:ke law, the State of Emergency must be renewed on a monthly basis.
