Review for the Code of Conduct for Council of Chiefs

There’s currently a Community Review for the Code of Conduct for Council of Chiefs. The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke is advising the community that representatives from the MCK Governance Project are engaging with the community to collect feedback on the Draft Code of Conduct for Council of Chiefs until 4pm this Friday, April 23rd. Gerald Taiaiake Alfred, Coordinator of the MCK Governance Project saying that this is an on-going process to increase the effectiveness and accountability of the MCK Council of Chiefs, by strengthening the governance framework through enhanced policy, regulations and legislation.
Alfred says that Kahnawa’kehró:non hold their leaders to the highest standards of professionalism and The Draft Code of Conduct document sets guidelines to ensure the Council of Chiefs’ actions and words meet the expectations of the community.
