The increased risk presented by coronavirus variants may mean that Kahnawake’s COVID 19 Task Force will not be able to lift the state of emergency when it is re-evaluated later this month. Public Safety Director Lloyd Phillips appeared on K1037s morning “D” and said,
“We are probably going to have to re-load it again because of the variants and this third wave that’s coming cause its probably going to hit us pretty hard, very soon”.
The Quebec Premier is holding his 2nd 5PM news conference of the week today (Thursday), and is expected to introduce more restrictions to help reign in the spread of the variants.
