Two Active Cases of COVID-19 in Kahnawake

Written by on 22 February 2021

The number of positive cases has increased from one to two in Kahnawake in recent days. However, the two cases are connected and are within the same bubble.

“It is contained, definitely,” said Lisa Westaway, the Executive Director of the Kateri Memorial Hospital Center (KMHC). She appeared on the Morning D on Monday. “Other tests that we have done resulted negative up until now. So we’re still doing well in the community but remember that we have to continue. We know that there are some variants that exist now. We can say that 100 percent of the positive tests are being screened for the variants. So we should have a better idea of what that means and for the community if the variant exists here.”
