COVID-19 Outbreak at Step By Step

A second and third person at Step By Step Child and Family Center in Kahnawake have tested positive for COVID-19. This follows the announcement that an educator tested positive on Tuesday February 2, 2021. In a press release from the COVID-19 Task Force in Kahnawake on Saturday evening, they stated that all children and their households from classes 1, 2, and 9 have been in isolation since the end of the day, Thursday, February 4th. The children and educators from those classes will be screened at the KMHC testing site on Sunday, February 7th.
“We almost made 11 months. We’ve been open from the get go,” said Natalie Beauvais, the Executive Director of Step By Step. “We’ve been doing this a long time and the entire world is living with this invisible virus. We are not exempt from that. It hurts. It breaks my heart.
