New Covid Restrictions Coming End Of December

The Kahnawake Covid 19 Task force in its Tuesday afternoon briefing has tightened up restrictions on visitors to your home. According to Lloyd Phillips, who is in charge of public safety, we can still go through the Christmas period with the rules that are in effect now but then things change.

“Effective on December 29^th, that will cease and we are going to return back to household only, whereby only the people who reside in your home will be permitted to be in your home. It’s very crucial at this point in time that we implement this. So after December 29^th it will be household only.”

There is another major restriction being put in place according to Lloyd Phillips.

“January 1^st all non-essential retail businesses will be asked to close. That includes businesses and factories. That includes the tobacco industry. They are being asked to close Dec 31^st.”

Both measures will be in effect until the end of January.
