Kahnawake’s Search and Rescue Seeks National Certification

Kahnawake’s Search & Rescue Team will be conducting training sessions over the next two weekends throughout the community in order to attain national certification. They will train at the Kahnawake Youth Center, the old KSS site, and possibly in the Village area.
KellyAnn Meloche is the Operations Manager for the Kahnawake Search and Rescue Team.
“There will be 18 members of the ground search and rescue team taking this course, including some Tiowero:ton caretakers,” Meloche said. “It’s important that we take this training to keep our minds fresh about everything that we’re doing and everything that we’re there for, especially just before hunting season and be prepared to get that call.”.
The sessions are scheduled for five days over the next two weekends.
