As the COVID-19 pandemic presses on into month number four, a mini powwow is in the works to boost the spirits of residents at the Kateri Memorial Hospital Centre (KMHC).
“We will be calling [families] to let you know. There’s a music event that will be organized and also a mini powwow for the residents and for family members,” said KMHC Director Lisa Westaway in a daily update on Friday.
Westaway said families will also be permitted to visit loved ones from a 15-foot distance starting next week.
“You’ll be getting calls to be able to book appointments to see your loved ones in a much closer way than you have been able to do up until now,” said Westaway.
As of last week, residents have been able to spend time outdoors in the shaded courtyard area of KMHC, according to Westaway. She said families will receive information by mail on Monday about new distancing protocols and plans for summer visitations.
