There are now four active cases of COVID-19 in Kahnawake. That brings the total to 22 in the community since the pandemic began.

Lisa Westaway, the Executive Director of the Kateri Memorial Hospital Center, appearing on the Morning D, says the four cases are within the same grouping. “Yes, we are at 22,” she said. “Therefore we had mentioned last Tuesday three active cases and now we are at four. What I could say about that though is the importance of social distancing. Because we now we are going to have other cases. It’s just part of this virus. Just to keep in mind that we have the least amount of transmission when we’re maintaining our distance.”
