 With businesses reopening in Kahnawá:ke– it caused some minor traffic issues, especially along the highways. Constable Kyle Zachary is the Public Relations Officer with the Kahnawá:ke Peacekeepers:

“There are sporadic moments of bad driving, we’re getting reports of people reversing down the highway or big line-ups at stores – some stores aren’t exactly organized, ready to re-open. They’re having a backlog, a big line-up, a big cue trying to get into the store.”

Zachary stating that the Peacekeepers are patrolling the highways:

“Well, we’re asking people to remain calm, obey the rules of the road. The Peacekeepers will be out on the road all day today and all night, monitoring the traffic making sure everybody remains safe. There are still social distance parameters in effect.”
