Iron workers returning to Kahnawake from New York are being reminded they must self-isolate upon return.
“If someone comes from outside the country and they come to the community they have to self-isolate for 14 days,” said Arnold Lazare in a daily task force briefing on Saturday.
Lazare reminded the community that 14-day self-isolation applies to individuals crossing provincial borders as well.
“It’s a very difficult process but it’s very necessary,” he said. ”Following that procedure has enabled the community to remain safe.”
Lazare said the decision about whether or not it is worth it to return for a weekend is ultimately up to the workers.
