Bambi may have been spotted in Kahnawake this morning. Several community members called the Kahnawake Peacekeepers to say they saw two young Deer roaming through yards and across streets early this morning in the Village area. The PKs quickly headed to the area of the Pentecostal Church, spotted the wild animals and provided a three car escort.

One of those Sheppard’s was Officer Jen Stacey. “A lot of community members were seeing this deer.  They were pointing us in the right direction. And I think with everything being so negative, everybody being down lately, seeing a deer in your front yard was kind of a little bit hopeful. It was nice to see. So it was an interesting morning chasing the deer,” Stacey said.

She says the deer evaded the police dragnet and were last seen in the area of the Protestant Cemetery.
