Washington NFL Team Drops Racist Nickname

Washington’s NFL team announced that it will retire their nickname and logo. A new team name will be announced at a later date.
the team said in a statement: “Dan Snyder and Coach (Ron) Rivera are working closely to develop a new name and design approach that will enhance the standing of our proud, tradition rich franchise and inspire our sponsors, fans and community for the next 100 years.”
The update comes 10 days after the franchise began a review of the team’s name following a huge push from several major companies urging the club to change the name.
