The Kateri Memorial Hospital Center (KMHC) has hired a New Executive Director. Lisa Westaway will replace Susan Horne who announced several months ago that she was retiring after more than two decades on the job.

Westaway has worked for more than 2 decades in Quebec’s health and social services network in Montreal.

“I’ve been looking for an opportunity to work in the community for quite a while now,” Westaway said. “I’ve been working 20 years in the health and social service network in Montreal. I’ve been trying to see how I could use those competencies to bring back to benefit the community and when this position was posted it just seemed like the perfect fit for me.” Westaway is associate director of front line services which means she’s in charge of 811 Info-Sante, as well as all medical clinics in the Center-West area of Montreal. She says she plans her first 90 days on the job this fall at the KMHC getting to know every aspect of the hospital.

“I’m very excited to see all the construction. The new beds that have been added to the hospital,” she said. “Really excited to get to know the community within the hospital. I’m excited to better understand what the community needs are and how  they see the services offered being developed in the future. And how I can participate in helping that happen.” Having lived in Kahnawake since 2005, Westaway and her family have a great deal of experience of using the services at the KMHC. She begins her new role on September 30th.
