Duke And Duchess of Sussex to View Artwork of Kahnawake Artist

An artist from Kahnawake will have her works viewed by the Royal family in England today.The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will meet with Janice Charette, High Commissioner in Canada to the U.K. at Canada House in London. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will see about 20 works from Skawennati in her show titled: “Avatars, Aliens, Ancestors”. “I feel very fortunate. i think that it’s incredibly lucky that it’s my work on when they are coming to visit. I don’t think they’re going to visit Skawennati,” she said with a laugh. “I have lots of feelings. We have a very long and complicated relationship with the Crown as Mohawk people, as Haudenosaunee people and as Indigenous people.”

Markle holds a special place in her heart for Canada, she filmed the TV show “Suits” in Toronto for several years before leaving to marry the Prince.
