Blue-Collar Park Plans in the Works

Written by on December 11, 2019

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke says that plans are in the works for a Blue-Collar Park to be located in the Clay Mountains area adjacent to the St. Lawrence Seaway.  It was a plan that was first announced at the beginning of June.

The new facility will house the MCK’s Public Works (Maintenance, Roads, Heavy Equipment, Waste Management, etc.) and Capital Units and will also include the School Bus depot. Currently, most of these facilities are located in a residential area at the town garage, with the resultant excess noise and traffic. “Community engagement will take place in January,” said Chief Lindsay LeBorgne, who holds the Infrastructure, Transport & Operations portfolio for the MCK.
