3 Active COVID-19 Cases Currrently in Kahnawà:ke.

Written by on 1 February 2021

There have been 99 cases of COVID-19 in Kahnawake since the outset of the pandemic began. Dawn Montour Lazare Manager Outpatient care at the Kateri Memorial Hospital Center and husband, Arnold Lazare from the Covid-19 task Force joined in on the Morning D today on K1037:

“Today we’re at 3 cases, not related to each other as well, 2 new cases are related to each the other one was not. Unknown where the source is right now and it’s  not related to any lifting of restrictions, because anything relating to the lifting of restrictions would take 5 to 7 days at least to start showing, so this is totally unrelated to anything that is going on right now.”

Arnold Lazare discussed the task Force’s easing of restrictions:

“We are in a good place, once again last week we reported 1 case and the Task Force is very confident that the community, well I won’t say has learned a lesson, but is aware and that has allowed the decision to move to a looser restriction, namely returning to the one household extra, visitations.”
